The mission of OUR SAO PAULO MOVEMENT is to mobilize several sectors of society to, in partnership with Governments and other institutions, build and commit to an agenda and a group of goals, articulate and promote actions, aiming for a just and sustainable Sao Paulo.
Guidelines for the objectives and goals
The objectives and goals, as a result of a collective construction of all sectors of society involved in the movement:
• shall compose a group of indicators and goals, of short, medium and long term, in all dimensions mentioned in the Movement’s Vision, with permanent and periodic monitoring and evaluation, being transparency the base for dialogue around the projects considered priority for the city, influencing governmental programs, public policies, citizens attitudes and partnerships among the several sectors of society;
• shall be built concomitantly to the adoption of concrete actions and interventions, without any precedence relation between objectives and actions, so as to take advantage of all the opportunities, identified through the articulation of partnership networks that wish to act this way;
• shall guide possible actions and interventions to be developed as of the identification of well succeeded experiences and relevant projects that have not yet been put into practice, creating an harmonious environment with an exemplarity potential.
Guidelines for structuring the movement
The OUR SAO PAULO MOVEMENT will act under the form of “self-managed networks”, composed by several sectors of society that will get together to help around precise programs, aligned to theme “axles”. The axles may reflect many dimensions, such as education, health, transportation, housing as well as diversity, justice and other less sectorial, but more transversal axles. Within these axles, each network will focus on a specific program, keeping its members, autonomy and identity, signing, however, a protocol of mutual commitment for the accomplishment of its network tasks. There will be no limits or any other restrictions for the building of networks and axles.
Redundancy will not be understood as loss of efficiency; it will, on the other hand, be seen as diversity of forms and active, live, mutant and creative contents.
Simultaneously, in order to ensure a minimum of coordination, there will be a set of structures for guidance, support, implementation, facilitation, animation, connection, consolidation of data, information and knowledge. Such structures, together with the networks, will be formed as follows:
• Forums – leaders, personalities and government representatives – counsels, guides, broadens and helps mobilization
• Animation Group – mobilization guides and operators
• Operational Support – administrative support to Forums and Animation Group
• Workgroups – representatives of several “axles” from the formed networks, with the objective to turn the set of information between field actions and the movement’s monitoring structure fluid.
We would like to invite citizens, organizations of society, public and private institutions, companies, unions and associations, members of the parliament, third sector organizations to join this, above any political party, movement, so that we may contribute to turn our Sao Paulo into another and better city.
